If I had to pick a quote that described me, it would have to be "You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough." I am not religious, but I love the idea of reincarnation; the idea that you can come back and experience all that life has to offer again and again. Even if that life is filled with roadblocks and pitfalls, it's the bad that makes the good feel that much better. Ever since I was young, I dreaded the pre-approved straight line of life that we are all expected to follow. I wanted something more. I wanted to experience things outside of the ordinary. And so here I am.
I came to New York to pursue a graduate degree in an obscure field, but soon found that isolating myself in arcane texts was not what I wanted to do with my life. And so I worked in the real world for a few years before deciding to pursue a second degree in the field of mental health.
One of my favorite pastimes is exploring NYC; it has so much to offer, so many people to meet, and so many secrets to uncover. Besides that, I'm a pretty big daydreamer and enjoy just listening to music and letting my mind wander. I am a huge news junkie and read The New York Times everyday. And of course, I would be lying if I didn't mention binge-watching Netflix. I am an avid reader, and my favorite books are The Goldfinch & The Secret History, both by Donna Tartt.
And yes, I know that everyone says this, but I do love to travel. I have been to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain, Brazil, and Portugal, to name a few. I am really looking to travel outside of Europe, particularly India and South Africa.
